I was a little thrown off by the reviews before buying from these guys, but I've been with them for 9 months now, with very little problems. There has only been downtime once with a power outage that affected the entire city (out of their control), and once where my port speed seemed to stick at 100mbps, but I opened a ticket and they fixed that. They have a great network blend and I haven't had any complaints about that. When they say unmetered, I really put that to the test and haven't had any issues. You cant find a dedicated server for this price anywhere else on the internet.
final note: anyone who claims their support is unhelpful, its unmanaged, meaning they aren't in charge of managing your programs or such. They are great to fix network or hardware problems, or reinstall your OS.
What would you feel if you sign up for dedicated server and billing is failing again and again and every time it fails you are charged disconnection fee. Meaning Wholesaleinternet billing system from 90s is failing and each of that time you pay disconnection fee. Add to this long downtimes. Some of them were over 2 days. And finish it with worst customer support where they close tickets without any reply. That's what you get when you buy cheap unmanaged server from WholeSaleInternet. Our fault. No more WSI
I completely agree with Alex. This is the worst customer service and portal interface. We have hosted for some time, and then I needed to change credit card details. I changed the card and set it to default payment. But I still was disconnected and there was no attempt to help. And yes they are asking for a disconnection fee. Don't use this provider!!!
I have been using them a few years and over all feel very bad. I was going to add many dedicated servers there if their service is good but stopped at 3. Yesterday I cancel one and I am in the process to cancel the other 2. This company would null my IP for occasional SMTP traffic due to back up kick on because of primary MX problem. I contact them several time and I decided to give up. They also got outage a lot.
everytime theres an issue with the server they will tell you its an unmanaged server. last time my server went offline I contacted them they told me I must hire someone to help, little did they know i had a friend using the same service, his server was offline as well.
I have been using WholeSaleInternet for years now and since past 1-week server is offline and when we contact them via ticket we get predefined replies or no response at all. They destroyed our brand value we start getting abuse calls from our customer's hosted on their network.
I've used WholesaleInternet in the past. I always used the 'Instant Dedi Service' and from that I always had a bad hard drive here and there and it would get resolved. One thing that I wish they provided was a backup service. I way of offloading your information so that you can restore your server easily, however they will plug in your old drive and allow you to copy the needed files and there support is very fast. One thing to note is there support is hardware only! This is an unmanaged service so don't expect to get the answer you're looking for if something isnt working the way you like.
I now use there custom dedi service and it is much better! They provide on the go upgrades and everything. I've been a customer for over 6 months and have not experienced many problem thus far.
I felt a need to post a review since all I keep seeing is bad reviews. I've had nothing but a good experience with Wholesale Internet.
Most people who buy this expect some help on the System admin side, including "how do I add these keys?", "why is my nginx not working", and then they call out the company shit. Most people don't understand what Unmanaged means, no wonder I always had better experience than described in reviews with companies like WSI, OVH, Hetzner, etc
WORST SERVICE PROVIDER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET
Wholesale Internet IS THE WORST. The support staff did not respond ALL DAY after disconnecting my server without warning for ONE website issue impacting 60 business owners. I will be taking my business else where. 6 hours off line and support non responsive, phone disconnected, no email response until I send from an email NOT in their system then emailed again with my on file email just to be told it will be handled the next day. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. JUST DON'T DO IT! YOU WILL DEEPLY REGRET IT. I'VE EFFECTIVELY LOST 80% OF MY BUSINESS THANKS TO THEM.
